'I have a scar...' Macaulay Culkin reveals Joe Pesci accidentally bit his finger in Home Alone rehearsal

Macaulay Culkin has revealed Joe Pesci accidentally bit his finger during a rehearsal for 'Home Alone'.

The 44-year-old actor – who played the cheeky Kevin McCallister in the 1990 festive film – said he and Joe, 81, were rehearsing a scene where thief Harry threatens the young boy, only for the 'Goodfellas' star to get carried away and bit down hard on his finger.

At a Q+A session in Rosemont, Illinois, as a part of the actor's 'A Nostalgic Night With Macaulay Culkin' tour to celebrate the movie, he said: "He [Joe] was trying to scare me. He was like, 'I want to be menacing to this kid.'"

After Joe accidentally chomped on his finger, Macaulay said his co-star "didn't react much" to the incident, and added the bite had actually left him with a scar.

He added: "I have a scar. I saw his face — and I’ve never, ever seen Joe Pesci actually scared. Because he’s like, 'I just bit a kid!'"

'Home Alone' – which also stars Catherine O'Hara, Daniel Stern and John Heard – follows Kevin after his family forgets to bring him with them on their trip to Paris, forcing the young boy to fend for himself and go toe-to-toe with a pair of thieves who plan to rob the house.

As well as Macaulay, the actor's brother Kieran Culkin appears in 'Home Alone' as Kevin's cousin Fuller, though the 'Succession' star recently admitted he refuses to let his children watch the film as he thinks there are some "scary parts", such as the finger-biting threat, that he doesn't think are appropriate for youngsters.

Speaking with E! News, Kieran – who has daughter Kinsey, five, and son Wilder, three, with his wife Jazz Charlton – said: "There's still some scary parts.

"For the three-year-old, there's the tarantula [and] there's the guy at the end who said, 'I'm gonna bite of all your fingers'. That's scary for a three-year-old.

"We think they might be ready for 'Home Alone' this year. If not, next year."

Reflecting on 'Home Alone', the 42-year-old actor admitted he wasn't completely aware of the movie's plot during production.

He told the Los Angeles Times newspaper: "I had no idea what that movie was about when I saw it, and I was in it. I was at the premiere, and I was dying laughing. It was the funniest thing I had ever seen. I had no idea what the movie was about.

"Devin Ratray, the guy who plays Buzz, lied to me and told me the movie was all about him, and I believed him. And then when I saw it, the movie's cracking me up, and I go, 'Mac was on set all the time. That makes sense the movie would be about him.'"
